Best barbecue sandwich at Fat Matt's Rib Shack
The Fourth of July is all about barbecue
Why not use the Fourth of July holiday as a good excuse to forgo your diet and food restrictions and step into one of the best places around to have barbecue. If you are lucky enough to be in Atlanta, Georgia then unquestionably the best place to try some barbecue is Fat Matt’s Rib Shack.
Shack is a barbecue haven
While it looks every part of a shack and most will admit it is a very plain looking restaurant. Still, this place is
known around the country for the barbecue they serve. Every type of celebrity
has graced this spot as well as local residents who make this place a regular stop because the barbecue is so
good. Actually this little spot has some of the best barbecue you will ever
taste. This is certainly one of those moments where you are not able to judge
the contents of a location by the outside. While the zip code for the restaurant
is considered one of the pricier areas in Atlanta the restaurant is not a part
of the pretty homes and parks. However, if you judge pretty by the friendliness
of the staff, the goodness of the food, and the funkiness of the blues music that is played most nights in
the establishment…well then the place is pretty.
Busy time of the year
They will actually have a pretty busy customer base over the
next couple of days because customers will flock to the barbecue haven for a
meaty treat for the fourth of July. In the age when it is more cool to like
avocados and pomegranates than actual meat it is hard to admit that every now
and again you want to jump into an oasis of good for no benefit but taste and
have some piggy, porky, and sticky meat. You will not find any fruit at all in this place. Although you may include a fruit option as the sweet potato pie slice that is wrapped up at the counter and begging to be added to your order.
Barbecue in the South
Ordering barbecue in the south is pretty standard. Just about
every month thanks to great weather someone in Georgia is barbecuing some meat.
This also makes for a lot of choices for restaurants that serve the good old
meaty indulgence. Plus, it is common to see people grilling on the side of the road, or in the parking lot of the church, even the gas stations sometimes have some guy with a questionable apron on claiming to have some good barbecue. Yet, if you want the best go to Fat Matt's Rib Shack and have a barbecue rib sandwich.
Fat Matt's Rib Sandwich
This legendary sandwich is served between two pieces of white bread and cost about 8 bucks and has just enough sauce slathered on it to lick your fingers. They bring it to you in a brown paper bag and it is wrapped up in wax paper. The basicness of the sandwich makes it so good. No tricks and image fanciness. Just a simple stick to your gut sandwich that will have you appreciating the south. Tell me what you think once you pay a visit.
