Parish is a fun spot for Brunch in the Beltline in Atlanta, Georgia

It's a typical steamy hot Sunday afternoon in Atlanta and you are wondering what should you do? Well, after realizing you are too late for church and too early for dinner...try getting a good brunch in the Beltline of Atlanta, Georgia. The Atlanta Beltline is a corridor around the midtown and downtown parts of the city. The attempt is to promote green space, live and work communities, and better transportation.

One Sunday afternoon after stopping in a boutique near Highland Avenue in Atlanta my daughter and I rode past a gorgeous building with the sign Parish on the outside we noticed the brick building had a sign that said - Brunch- so we decided to turn around and give it a try.

This restaurant offers valet parking so you don't have to worry about parking. Or if you are close enough to the inner city of the beltline you can ride your bike, hike one of the trails, or catch the bus. The whole idea of the beltline is to ease the hustle and bustle of crazy traffic in Atlanta. This particular gorgeous Sunday there were families out with the baby strollers, groups of skaters, and even those that dared take a jog in the over 90 degree temperature of the day.

We entered the building from the back entrance which has a beautiful display of flowers and outdoor seating,  and once inside we were quickly treated to smells of flavorful coffee downstairs. There is a quaintly decorated coffee house style cafĂ© downstairs with bench seating, and even couch seating if you want to get more comfortable while sipping your coffee. There is a small menu with pastries and coffee drinks of all kinds to choose from. If you are like me and love the smell of coffee you will simply enjoy the intensity of the aroma before even ordering your own selection.

Once we learned that there is a different menu with brunch selections upstairs... we decided to venture up the stairs to take a peek at the other half of the restaurant. On the stairs you also get a good glance at the kitchen. It is always is a plus when I get to the see the inside of the restaurant's kitchen.  Once at the main restaurant areas we were quickly greeted by a hostess and got a lovely wood table. We were served fresh water out of nice chilled big glass bottles along with two small biscuits that tasted something like poppy seed. Next, we made our selections of eggs, grits, omelets with ham, and sausage with a side of tea for my daughter and a Mimosa for myself.

Shortly after placing our order our server brought generous plates to our table. The food presentation was lovely. The eggs were done just right and the grits had that southern consistency. Everything was great! Along, with the pleasing food we equally enjoyed the music that was playing in the restaurant. During our time at our table we heard various selections that ranged from Marvin Gaye to Prince.

Parish is definitely a star spot to check out if you are on the beltline and looking for a relaxed atmosphere for brunch. The service was excellent and the staff has that southern hospitality thing down packed. Plus, the food was simple and great. Brunch on the Beltline in Atlanta, Georgia at Parish created a beautiful Sunday southern memory.
